Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Behaviour Mentor for a secondary school in Bolton. You will provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to pupils, building positive relationships and supporting emotional regulation to improve engagement and attendance.

The role involves de-escalating situations, maintaining professional boundaries, and collaborating with teachers and the wider school team to help students succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience working in secondary schools, behaviour support, youth work, pastoral care, SEMH settings, residential care or similar environments.
• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.
• Ability to build relationships and de-escalate situations.

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, develop positive behaviours and reach their full potential?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Bolton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social challenges.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage their behaviour and engage positively with school life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
• Helping pupils understand and make positive changes to their behaviour
• Encouraging engagement with learning and improving attendance
• Supporting pupils who may be at risk of disengaging from education
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
• De-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries
