Many learners have experienced disrupted education and require consistent role models who can help them re-engage with learning and build positive relationships.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. You will be responsible for helping to manage behaviour, de-escalating challenging situations, and providing consistent emotional and academic support to help pupils access learning.

You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies, support reintegration into lessons, and encourage positive choices throughout the school day.

  • Support pupils to re-engage with learning and improve attendance and behaviour
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Support teachers in maintaining a calm and structured learning environment
  • Implement behaviour plans and follow school safeguarding procedures
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience, respect, and responsibility
  • Record and report behavioural incidents and progress where required
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASD, or behavioural needs (preferred)

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, resilient, and consistent approach to supporting young people
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
  • Experience in schools, PRUs, AP settings, youth work, or care backgrounds is highly desirable

Benefits:
