Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Rochdale is seeking a calm, confident Behaviour Mentor to join a fantastic secondary academy. You will support students with behaviour, engagement and emotional needs, working closely with the pastoral team to help them stay focused and ready to learn.

The role is an immediate-start supply position, with full training provided and ongoing support. Experience with teens in schools or community settings is ideal, and a DBS check is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 months of recent experience as a teaching assistant in a UK school, with detailed references
• Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply) and Overseas Police Checks if applicable
• CV with full employment and education history, with gaps explained
• Legal right to work full-time in the UK with no restrictions

Behaviour Mentor - Secondary Academy in Rochdale

Start: ASAP

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm

Contract: Ongoing temporary role via Tradewind

Tradewind are looking for a calm, confident, and supportive Behaviour Mentor to join a fantastic secondary academy in Rochdale.

This is an immediate-start supply role, perfect for someone passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive in school.

You’ll work closely with the school's pastoral team, supporting students with behaviour, engagement, emotional needs, and confidence building - helping them stay focused, safe, and ready to learn.

Ideal Background

• Working with teenagers in schools, youth projects, community groups, or performing arts
• Supporting young people with behaviour, emotional regulation, or confidence
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach in challenging situations
• Understanding of trauma, attachment issues, or SEMH needs (desirable, not essential)
• TA qualifications are great but not required - full training provided

Recruitment Criteria (Required)

• At least 3 months of recent experience working as a teaching assistant in a UK school, supported by detailed references
• TA qualifications are beneficial but not essential
• Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, and provide Overseas Police Checks if applicable
• Must provide a CV with full employment and education history, with all gaps explained
• Have the legal right to work full-time in the UK with no restrictions
