Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a calm, confident Behaviour Mentor to join a fantastic secondary academy in Rochdale.

Start ASAP. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm. This is an immediate-start supply role with ongoing temporary contract via Tradewind.

You will work closely with the school's pastoral team to support students with behaviour, engagement, emotional needs and confidence building, helping them stay focused, safe and ready to learn.

Qualifications

• 3+ months of recent experience as a teaching assistant in a UK school.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS is required or willing to apply.
• CV with full employment and education history, gaps explained.

Responsibilities

• Support students with behaviour, engagement and emotional needs.
• Assist with confidence building and keeping students focused and safe.
• Work with pastoral team to help learners be ready to learn.

Tradewind are looking for a calm, confident, and supportive Behaviour Mentor to join a fantastic secondary academy in Rochdale. This is an immediate-start supply role, perfect for someone passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive in school.

You’re work closely with the school’s pastoral team, supporting students with behaviour, engagement, emotional needs, and confidence building - helping them stay focused, safe, and ready to learn.

Ideal Background:

We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in any of the following:

• Working with teenagers in schools, youth projects, community groups, or performing arts
• Supporting young people with behaviour, emotional regulation, or confidence
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach in challenging situations
• Understanding of trauma, attachment issues, or SEMH needs (desirable, not essential)
• TA qualifications are great but not required - full training provided

Recruitment Criteria (Required):

• At least 3 months of recent experience working as a teaching assistant in a UK school, supported by detailed references
• TA qualifications are beneficial but not essential
• Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, and provide Overseas Police Checks if applicable
• Must provide a CV with full employment and education history, with all gaps explained
• Have the legal right to work full-time in the UK with no restrictions
