Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for a primary specialist SEMH setting in Knowle, Solihull. This role supports pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, working to build confidence, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The post offers both full-time and part-time hours, with daily pay of £92.56–£100.00 and an ASAP or September 2026 start. Previous experience in youth work, behaviour, pastoral or support roles is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, emotional regulation or additional needs.
• Team Teach Training – Highly Desirable
• Not essential if you have the right attitude and personality for the role.

Behaviour Mentor – SEMH Primary School

Location: Knowle, Solihull – B93
Pay:£92.56 – £100.00 per day

Are you a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant or Support Worker looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can make a genuine difference to children’s lives?

We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary specialist setting in Knowle, Solihull, working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a bubbly, positive and resilient personality who can build strong relationships with children and help them overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role

You will be working with primary-aged pupils who may experience a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. The role is about much more than simply managing behaviour – you will be helping children to develop confidence, emotional regulation, positive relationships and the skills they need to engage successfully in education.

You will work closely with the wider school team to provide consistent, nurturing and individualised support throughout the school day.

Your Responsibilities

You don’t necessarily need to have worked in a specialist school before. Most importantly, you need to be patient, resilient, approachable and able to remain calm and positive when faced with challenging situations.

Experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, emotional regulation or additional needs would be highly beneficial.

Team Teach Training – Highly Desirable

If you already hold Team Teach or other positive handling/restraint training, this would be a huge advantage.

However, this is not essential if you have the right attitude, experience and personality for the role.
