Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Wigan is seeking a Youth Worker to support children with SEMH needs in classroom and during school activities. You will provide one-on-one and group support, work with teachers to tailor learning plans, and help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The role is full-time, daytime hours from 8:20 AM to 3:05 PM, with a pay rate of 16.79 per hour. Experience with Autism ASD, Dyslexia and ADHD is welcomed; resilience, confidence and teamwork are essential

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH children preferred.
• Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Empowering Learning are working closely with a vibrant behavioural school, supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties in Wigan. The ideal candidate should be resilient and confident supporting children with Autism ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD, Challenging Behaviours.

Your Role

As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting special needs children in their academic and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-on-one and group assistance to students with social and emotional difficulty.
• Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create tailored learning plans.
• Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assisting with daily activities, personal care, and promoting independence.

Requirements

• Experience working with SEMH children is preferred but not essential.
• Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
