Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Wigan is seeking a Youth Worker to support children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) in a specialist setting. You will provide one-to-one and small-group assistance, helping pupils stay engaged and reach personal development goals.

Collaborating with teachers and support staff, you will contribute to tailored learning plans, foster an inclusive classroom, and support daily activities with patience, empathy and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEMH children is preferred but not essential.
  • Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service / or commitment to apply.

BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT / 1:1 / SEMH TA

Empowering Learning are working closely with a vibrant behavioural school, supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties in Wigan. The ideal candidate should be resilient and confident supporting children with Autism ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD, Challenging Behaviours.

Your Role

As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting special needs children in their academic and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group assistance to students with social and emotional difficulty.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create tailored learning plans.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with daily activities, personal care, and promoting independence.
