Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for the Harrogate area to support pupils with SEMH, Autism and sensory learning needs.

You will have prior experience with children or young people, be able to obtain references, and be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service. Salary is £93-£110 per day, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in school, nursery or care settings.
  • Ability to obtain valid references from these roles.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH, autism and sensory learning needs.
  • Assist class teachers and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Be reliable, flexible and build positive relationships with students.

Requirements

To be considered for the Behaviour Mentor role, you will:

  • Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 4 years.
  • We must be able to obtain valid references from these roles.
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualificationsrequired for this position are: some recent experience obtained within the last 4 years, of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting. We must be able to obtain references from one of these roles.

We are looking for people who are wanting to try out/start or continue work in education that are reliable, flexible and want to have a positive experience on someone else's life. Work can be made permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

The needs of the pupils the schools caters for range from the following:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)

  • Autism

  • Sensory learning

The School

This SEND school is based in the Harrogate area and is easily accessible via public transport. There is also ample car parking. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or even supply support staff members.

This school is looking for someone who thinks on their feet, is reliable, willing to go the extra mile and build positive relationships with students. Alongside this having a fun and energetic personality.
