Job summary

Milk Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a long-term basis. This role focuses on supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and build positive attitudes to school.

As a Behaviour Mentor you will work with students who require additional behavioural, emotional and social support, promoting engagement and resilience throughout the school day.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ASD or behavioural needs.
  • Previous experience as Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs in a specialist setting.
  • Encourage engagement, attendance and participation in learning.
  • Deliver targeted interventions focusing on emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Use restorative approaches to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Support pupils during lessons, break times and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to implement strategies.
  • Monitor progress and maintain records of pupil development.

Behaviour Mentor - Enfield

Milk Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a long-term basis. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional and social support throughout the school day. The role involves building strong relationships, promoting positive behaviour and helping students develop the confidence and resilience needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs across a specialist educational setting
  • Working as a Behaviour Mentor to encourage engagement, attendance and participation in learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions focused on emotional regulation, wellbeing and self-esteem
  • Using restorative and therapeutic approaches to manage challenging behaviour
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, breaktimes and enrichment activities
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records of pupil development
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ASD or behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Confidence managing challenging situations in a positive and professional manner
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people thrive
Essential Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people
