Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Behaviour & Academic Mentors to work within primary schools across Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy building positive relationships with young people and supporting them to overcome barriers to learning.

As a Behaviour & Academic Mentor you will provide one-to-one and small group academic support, assist with classroom activities, and help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes to education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in educational or care settings.
• Patient, empathetic and able to build strong relationships.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Degree or relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group academic support.
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.

Pay: £92 - £105/day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time (school term time only)

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Behaviour & Academic Mentors to work within primary schools across Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy building positive relationships with young people and supporting them to overcome barriers to learning.

As a Behaviour & Academic Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may require additional support with their learning, confidence, engagement, or behaviour. You will play a key role in helping children develop positive attitudes towards education and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities may include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group academic support.
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and learning programmes.
• Helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have experience working with children or young people in educational, care, coaching, youth work, or support settings.
• Are patient, empathetic, and able to build strong professional relationships.
• Have strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Are passionate about helping pupils overcome challenges and achieve success.
• Hold a degree or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
