Job summary

GCS Associates is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth across Northern England and Scotland in the flat roofing insulation sector.

You will manage existing accounts and pursue new opportunities, promoting innovative insulation solutions while working with internal teams to deliver on targets and margins. Autonomy to grow the territory is a key feature of this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in specification sales or technical sales in construction.
• Knowledge of flat roofing insulation and waterproofing systems.
• Track record of achieving sales targets in field-based roles.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver territory sales and margin targets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with waterproofing manufacturers and roofing contractors.
• Identify, submit and track project opportunities from enquiry through to completion.
• Carry out site surveys for technical designs and quotations.
• Improve enquiry conversion through proactive follow-up.
• Build long-term partnerships with Tier 1–Tier 3 contractors and customers.
• Maintain a healthy project pipeline with Sales Support.
• Update customer information in the CRM system.
• Produce regular activity and market feedback reports.
• Attend sales meetings and contribute to business development.
