Job summary

Spire Claremont Hospital in Sheffield seeks a Theatre Assistant to join the bank team and support the operating theatre. You will escort patients, move equipment and contribute to a safe, efficient perioperative environment.

The role emphasises teamwork, customer-facing duties and mandatory infection control and health & safety training, with opportunities to progress into permanent posts.

Qualifications

• Experience of acting under instruction.
• Working as part of a team and customer-facing experience.
• Experience as a porter or caring role in a clinical environment.
• Mandatory infection control and health and safety training.
• Equipment and Medical Devices competences
• English language to IELTS 7.0

Theatre Assistant/Spire Claremont/Sheffield/Bank/Ad-Hoc Shifts/Competitive Rate

Spire Claremont Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Theatre Assistant to join the bank team.

Duties and responsibilities:

To assist the multi-disciplinary operating team to provide exemplary care by offering a timely portering service. The service will include escorting patients between ward, departments and theatre suite; Transporting equipment, medical records, meals, specimens and linen; Moving furniture.

• Routine tasks related to patient’s health and well being.
• Production and communication of information and knowledge
• Contribute to own personal development.
• Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety and security.
• Assist in maintaining and developing services.
• Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
• Ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights.
• Move patients, surgical equipment and goods.
• Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.

Who we're looking for:

• Experience of acting under instruction.

• Experience of working as a porter or another caring role based in a clinical environment
• Possess the mandatory training requirements for role including infection control and health and safety competencies.
• Possess Equipment and Medical Devices Competences
• English language to IELTS 7.0
• Moving and handling of patients in the perioperative area.
• Attaching additional equipment to operating tables and trolleys.
• Safe use of role specific perioperative equipment.
