Job summary

Spire Nottingham is seeking a Sterile Services Assistant to join the theatre team, cleaning, sterilising and packing surgical instruments to ensure they are ready for use. The role is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting and requires reliable transport due to limited public transport links.

You will maintain cleanliness across clinical and non-clinical areas, complete cleaning schedules, prepare rooms, and support broader housekeeping tasks within a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience in a public or healthcare environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and a proactive approach.
• Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends.
• Access to your own transport.

Spire Nottingham are looking for a Sterile Services Assistant to join their multi-disciplinary theatre team providing exemplary care in the Sterile Services department by cleaning, sterilising and packing theatre instruments. Ensuring theatre instruments are correct and ready for use, this role is a physically demanding role which involved heavy lifting.

Please note that access to your own transport is essential due to limited public transport links.

Your role:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all hospital areas, including clinical and non-clinical spaces
• Complete daily and deep cleaning schedules in line with infection control standards
• Prepare rooms to the correct layout, ensuring they are ready for use
