Job summary

Spire St Anthony's Hospital in Sutton seeks a Theatre Manager to lead a busy theatre department and deliver excellence in patient care. You will mentor the team, drive clinical governance and work with senior leaders to meet KPI and budget targets, within a six-theatre unit offering orthopaedic, gynae and cardio-thoracic services.

Ideal candidates will be HCPC/NMC registered with senior theatre leadership experience, a strong orthopaedic background, and a collaborative, patient-focused approach.

Qualifications

• HCPC or NMC Registration with no restrictions on practise
• Evidence of management and leadership experience in a Senior Theatre position (Lead or Deputy)
• Strong clinical background with orthopaedic experience
• Motivated and capable of working in a challenging environment
• Compassionate with excellent patient care and communication skills
• Experience in staff performance management and appraisals
• Knowledge of AfPP guidelines and CQC domains and requirements
• Experience in independent sector working advantageous

Spire St Anthony's Hospital is looking for a Theatre Manager to join their dedicated team. This role is ideally suited to a dynamic, motivated, and inspirational leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

As Theatre Manager, you will lead by example, driving excellence in patient care, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of theatre services across a busy department.

Our multispecialty unit will give you the opportunity to expand your skills and expertise. We have six operating theatres covering a wide range of specialities and procedures including Ortho, Gynae, Cardio-thoracic and many other surgical specialties.

Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey and South London.

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

• The Theatre Manager will monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care and provide appropriate clinical and managerial leadership throughout the department.
• You will act as a role model and mentor to clinical staff providing advice and support to others to promote good practice consistent with legislation and Spire Healthcare's policies.
• You will have the support of the theatre coordinator, and your team leads and an experienced hospital senior leadership team.
• The Theatre Manager will encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
• You will ensure that Clinical Governance and Risk management are embedded within daily practice and promote excellence.
• Build effective controls to ensure the Department's Key Performance Indicator and financial targets are achieved to contribute to the hospital strategy, business plan and growth.

Who we're looking for

• HCPC or NMC Registered - with no restrictions or conditions on practise
• Have evidence of management and leadership experience in a Senior Theatre position such as Lead or Deputy.
• Have strong clinical background and orthopaedic experience
• You will be highly motivated and used to working in challenging but rewarding environment.
• Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care with strong communication skills.
• Experience in undertaking staff performance management, appraisals and team development.
• Expert knowledge of clinical standards, AfPP guidelines and CQC domains & requirements.
• Passion and commitment to running an outstanding service
• It would be advantageous to have experience of independent sector working
