Job summary

CareTech is seeking a Bank Support Worker in Portsmouth to deliver person-centred support and assist with daily living tasks. You’ll promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing while supporting activities and community access.

Rostered shifts may include evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins; full training is provided, with DBS clearance paid by CareTech.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Drivers desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

Rate: £12.71 per hour

Permanent | Bank | 0 hours contract

About the Service – London Road

London Road is a Service located in Portsmouth and can be accessed by rail or road links via the M27 and A27.

Consisting of ten supported living flats, London Road is suitable for men and women with a range of complex support needs which may disrupt their ability to consistently function independently or as part of a community, participate in employment, maintain positive relationships or cope with the demands of every-day life

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
