Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Bank Support Workers for our service in Portsmouth on London Road to support adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. You will deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living skills, and promote independence in a supportive team.

No prior experience is required as full training and induction are provided; a positive, reliable attitude and good communication are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

About the Service - London Road

London Road is a Service located in Portsmouth and can be accessed by rail or road links via the M27 and A27.

Consisting of ten supported living flats, London Road is suitable for men and women with a range of complex support needs which may disrupt their ability to consistently function independently or as part of a community, participate in employment, maintain positive relationships or cope with the demands of every-day life

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

We're seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we'll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
