Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Folkestone, Kent seeks a Bank Support Worker to provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The role offers training, a structured induction, and opportunities to develop skills while working on a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Successful candidates will have a caring, patient approach, good communication, and a willingness to work toward Level 2 in Health & Social Care; DBS is required

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).
• Drivers desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep‑ins

About the Service –

Situated by the Harbour, we support 7 Service Users to live as independently as possible within their own apartments; empowering them to gain employment and accessing education, supporting with meal planning, budgeting and much more. Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
