With an Outstanding CQC Judgement, Cambian Shap Road is probably one of the best residential care homes of its type in the country. Located in the picturesque town of Kendal, it provides exceptional care and support for young adults with learning disabilities and/or challenges within the autistic spectrum. The home is a registered 4-bedroom house for young adults, who are closely supported to live as independently as possible and be a big part of the local community. We aspire for all people to be the best they can be as themselves.

If you join us, you will be working with a group of young adults who are very happy, safe, and show high levels of respect and kindness towards each other. The care and life experiences that we provide make a significantly positive difference to their lives, and parents have commented that the support their children receive has ‘changed their lives and given them hope’.

You may have the skills to support our young adults in activities such as fundraising for charities like our local homeless shelter or helping them prepare for more independent living by arranging personalized activities, work experience, or social events. Alternatively, you may be interested in our outdoor learning programs that develop leadership skills, resilience, and confidence.

If you are an experienced support worker, we would love to help you develop your career within our calm, caring, and supportive environment. If you are new to the sector, this is a great place to start your exciting new career.

What we need from you?

Successful Support Workers will be part of a large, supportive care team working holistically across care and therapeutic services to support individuals with complex needs, including autism and learning disabilities. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and collaborate with trained, qualified professionals from across our multidisciplinary organization.

Cambian Shap Road is working towards reshaping how we support young people into adulthood, aiming to prepare them for employment, work experience, and lifelong fulfillment.

Join us and help make a huge difference in people’s lives!

How we reward you…

We offer an exceptional rewards package including:

  • Free Parking
  • Free Lunch, Dinner & all drinks during shifts
  • Pension scheme with options to increase contributions
  • Access to mental health support services and physical health checks
  • Discount options in high street stores, events, cinemas, restaurants, and more

We are looking for Residential Support Workers who are:

  • Passionate about improving lives
  • Positive role models
  • Innovative, engaging, enthusiastic, and inspirational
  • Creative thinkers and implementers
  • Flexible with shift patterns including days, evenings, and weekends
  • Excellent communicators and team players
  • Seeking career development and training

Successful applicants will complete a Care Certificate Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification, with full training provided for career and personal development.
