Job summary

Cygnet is seeking a Bank Kitchen Assistant / Housekeeper for flexible shifts at Cygnet St William's, a 12 bed Neuropsychiatric service in the UK. The role involves preparing meals, kitchen duties, and maintaining high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in catering, preferably in a care setting.
  • Holder of a food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
  • Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
  • Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
  • Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
  • Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
  • Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations

We are looking for an outstandingBank Kitchen Assistant / Housekeeperwho’s passionate about food and wants to make a difference.

You’ll be workingflexible bank shifts a week at Cygnet St Williams, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.

Cygnet St William’s is a 12 bed Neuropsychiatric service offering care and treatment to those affected by acquired brain injuries. It is a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease, like Huntington’s Disease, a caring and longer term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

Your day-to-day...

  • The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards

  • An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
  • Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
  • Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
