Job summary

Cygnet St Williams is seeking a Bank Kitchen Assistant / Housekeeper who is passionate about food and helping others. You’ll work flexible bank shifts at our 12 bed Neuropsychiatric service, supporting meal preparation, cooking tasks, and the upkeep of the kitchen, dining room and service areas.

Qualifications

• Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting.
• Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards.
• Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times.
• Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
• Diligent & take pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Able to work on your own initiative as part of a team and under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room.
• Wash utensils, dishes & store them appropriately.
• Rotate stock & put away deliveries.
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with COSHH and Cygnet standards.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment according to procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
