Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Accept and process referrals, conduct assessments, and undertake risk assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual support plans with clients.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to families with empathy and professionalism.
  • Assist with housing management, including rent collection, reporting repairs, and preparing accommodation for new occupants.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with external agencies and partner organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports in line with organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to achieving positive outcomes for clients and the service.
  • Participate in supervision, training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.

We're looking for a Female Housing Support Worker to join our supported accommodation service, providing safe housing, practical support, and guidance to vulnerable families. This is a rewarding opportunity to empower families to build independence, stability, and brighter futures.

As a Housing Support Worker, you will:
  • Accept and process referrals, conduct assessments, and undertake risk assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual support plans in partnership with clients.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to families with empathy, professionalism, and a non-judgemental approach.
  • Assist with housing management responsibilities, including rent collection, reporting repairs, and preparing accommodation for new occupants.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with external agencies and partner organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports in line with organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to achieving positive outcomes for clients and the service.
  • Participate in supervision, training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
What we’re looking for:
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families, including those affected by domestic abuse.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to challenge inappropriate behaviour confidently, professionally, and appropriately.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Experience of support planning and an understanding of the needs of vulnerable families.
  • A caring, compassionate, and non-judgemental approach.
  • Knowledge of substance misuse issues (desirable).
  • Experience of working with children (desirable).
