CYGNET is hiring a Bank Cook and Kitchen Assistant at Cygnet Newton House in Blackpool. You will support flexible shifts to cover sickness, annual leave, training and peaks in service, helping to deliver nutritious meals in a high-support care setting.

Working with a dedicated clinical team, you’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, manage basic food prep, stock and deliveries, and assist with kitchen equipment under COSHH rules. DBS check will be enhanced.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member.
  • Polite and professional with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Able to work on your own initiative and under supervision.
  • Diligent with high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals.
  • Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties.
  • Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately.
  • Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic.
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
  • Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

Be a part of it.We are looking for a Bank Cook and Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Newton House. You will be working flexible bank shifts, to cover sickness, annual leave, training, and increased service needs.Cygnet Newton House offers both a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service and community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery.From admission, the team work with the men we support to maximise positive outcomes and recovery, while focusing on discharge plans to support them to move on to the least restrictive environment for them. Our dedicated clinical team provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training.Located 1 mile from Blackpool centre, Cygnet Newton House benefits from being close to plenty of amenities.
