Job description
Job Vacancy

A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Overview

The Urology Service is dynamic and undergoing significant transformation, with opportunities for further improvement and development. The service manages general urology patients and operates a dedicated kidney stone service. The Maple Suite, equipped with a new Lithotripter, will soon launch an in‑house lithotripsy service to provide planned and emergency shockwave lithotripsy for urology patients. This treatment uses electro‑magnetically generated shockwaves to fragment urinary calculi, located via bi‑plane imaging or ultrasound. The unit operates five days a week (8am–4pm) and may provide weekend emergency cover in line with BAUS guidelines.

In addition, the service will establish a five‑day ultrasound clinic for haematuria and suspected bladder cancer, supporting a one‑stop model of care. We are seeking a full‑time Band 7 Senior Radiographer to work closely with the Urology team in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. The post holder will help set up and run the ultrasound service and train on the Lithotripter to deliver a comprehensive five‑day service.
