Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Nurse to take on the role of Home Intervention Team (HIT) Lead and become part of the well-established CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.

This post is for a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave from August 2025, for 15 hours per week.

The role requires a driving license and access to a vehicle, as the service operates in the community, in families' homes, and at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The HIT offers intensive intervention to young people and their families who are currently supported by our core eating disorders team.

The team aims to prevent inpatient admission, facilitate early discharge, support patients with complex co-morbid needs, and ensure safe, effective monitoring of high-risk patients due to physical or psychological needs.

You will work within a diverse multidisciplinary team alongside external stakeholders such as local paediatric teams in UHL. You will be integral in maintaining and promoting a compassionate, responsive, and enthusiastic team comprising Nurses, an Occupational Therapist, and Assistant Practitioners.

The role includes clinical and operational supervision of the team, providing clinical oversight, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

You will lead the development of the HIT service and liaise with wider stakeholders.

Main duties of the job
  1. To clinically lead and manage a multidisciplinary home intervention team, providing high-quality treatment and care for young people and families impacted by an eating disorder, using therapeutic models and guidelines.
  2. To perform and monitor comprehensive assessments of clients' needs.
  3. To manage care delivery for young people with eating disorders in their homes and on paediatric wards.
  4. To develop the team through supervision, support, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  5. To liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain a collaborative relationship with the wider Eating Disorder Team.
  6. To manage the financial resources, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  7. To ensure robust clinical governance and quality assurance processes are in place.
  8. To hold a small caseload of patients to support evidence-based practice and team cohesion.
