A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to deliver assessments and interventions for adults in mental health services. This role involves providing care coordination and working within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on holistic client care in the community. We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist interested in expanding their clinical skills and experience, to work within North East Essex Specialist Community Mental Health (SCMHT) provision for adults covering Colchester and the surrounding area.
The OT team sits within the wider multidisciplinary teams providing holistic support for clients with complex and enduring mental health needs requiring secondary level mental health care. The base for this role is Herrick House Colchester but you will be expected to travel to meetings and client visits at client homes, within the community and at other EPUT sites.
You will develop a wide range of clinical skills, including but not limited to OT assessments, care planning, delivering interventions through group and individual sessions, and supervising junior staff. You will also build on your skills of risk assessment and treatment planning in your role as care‑coordinator and duty worker. The post holder will have access to professional supervision and leadership within the team and will be supported to access a range of relevant development and training opportunities.
As part of the Occupational Therapy team and the wider Community Mental Health Team you will deliver occupational therapy focused assessment, treatment and interventions to community‑dwelling adults within the North East Essex area who are in receipt of care from secondary mental health services. You will concurrently undertake MDT shared tasks, including holding an allocated caseload of clients for whom you are the named care coordinator and undertaking duty as part of the team‑wide duty rota.
