Job summary

Wenzel’s the Bakers is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead a friendly team, train colleagues, and run day‑to‑day store operations while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring great quality of fresh sandwiches and products. In this role you’ll supervise shifts, help manage deliveries and stock, and drive sales with a focus on cost control and hygiene.

The position offers a 39‑hour week, £27,000 per year, flexible hours where possible, a company pension, 28 days holiday, birthday

Qualifications

• Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or retail.
• Good communicator with a track record of success in previous roles.
• Able to take responsibility within a fast-paced environment and provide high levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the shop team to meet schedules and store objectives.
• Assist the Shop Manager with training, leadership and daily operations.
• Ensure excellent customer service and greet customers.
• Receive and check daily deliveries and manage stock.
• Maintain shop displays and hygiene standards.
• Open/close the shop and run shifts when needed.
• Drive sales and minimise wastage while controlling costs.
