Job summary

Wenzel’s the Bakers is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead a skilled team, coach staff, and oversee daily store operations. You will prepare fresh ingredients, craft sandwiches and food items to the company standard, while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high product quality.

You will supervise the shop in the manager’s absence, drive sales, manage costs, and help grow the business by building a loyal customer base.

Qualifications

• Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or retail.
• Strong communication with a track record of success in previous roles.
• Able to take responsibility in a fast-paced environment and provide high levels of customer service

Responsibilities

• Ensuring store schedules and objectives are met by employees, successfully managing and controlling all aspects of the shop.
• Assisting the Shop Manager with training, leading and developing the team.
• Greeting customers and create an inviting experience.
• Receive and check daily deliveries.
• Assisting with the management of branch stock and produce.
• Maintaining shop displays.
• Food and produce quality control.
• Maintaining the highest level of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Opening or closing the shop when required.
• Running shifts at various times during the week and when the manager is on annual leave.
