Wenzel’s the Bakers in Reading is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager with leading the team, training staff and delivering excellent customer service while preparing fresh food to company standards.

You will help run the store, manage shifts, handle stock, cash and till operations, and drive sales while maintaining hygiene and high food safety standards. This role offers 39 hours per week and a salary of £27,000 per year with pension and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or a retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Shop Manager with training, leading and developing the team.
• Greeting customers and create an inviting experience.
• Receiving and checking daily deliveries and assisting with stock management.
• Maintaining hygiene and food safety standards and ensuring shop displays are well-presented.
