Job summary

Wenzel's the Bakers in Maidenhead is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead a busy team, prepare fresh sandwiches and deliver outstanding customer service. You will support the Shop Manager, supervise staff, manage deliveries, maintain hygiene standards and help grow sales while controlling costs.

The role includes excellent training, apprenticeship opportunities and clear progression paths. We offer a competitive salary of £27,000 per annum, 39-hour week, and benefits including a pension,

Qualifications

• Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or a retail setting.
• A good communicator with a track record of success in previous roles.
• Able to take responsibility within a face paced environment and provide high levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure store schedules and objectives are met by employees, successfully managing and controlling all aspects of the shop.
• Assisting the Shop Manager with training, leading and developing the team.
• Greeting customers and create an inviting experience.
• Receive and check daily deliveries.
• Assisting with the management of branch stock and produce.
• Maintaining shop displays.
• Have excellent knowledge and understanding of products.
• Preparation of food in line with the specification.
• Food and produce quality control.
• Maintaining the highest level of hygiene and food safety standards.
• The ability to work efficiently within a team.
• Cash handling, and till operation, and banking.
• Opening or closing the shop when required.
• Running shifts at various times during the week and when the manager is on annual leave.
• Driving sales and minimising wastage.
• Providing great service experiences for your customers.
• Working together and assist the Shop Manager with leading and training the team as required.
• Achieve consistently high standards.
