Job summary

MAG (Airports Group) is seeking a Baggage Field Operator at London Stansted Airport. You will help baggage move safely from check-in to aircraft departure and from arrival to collection, while delivering customer-focused service.

You will work with operations teams to respond to incidents, support contingencies and maintain efficient baggage flows, ensuring safety and high service standards at all times.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent in English and numeracy.
• Ability to learn and safely operate specialist baggage equipment following training.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate baggage manual stations in line with training and local procedures.
• Provide first-line response to baggage incidents, disruptions and contingency events.
• Support the safe and efficient movement of baggage throughout the airport.
• Respond to baggage flow incidents and escalate as needed.
• Work with Control Room Operators to restore baggage flow quickly and safely.
• Assist passengers with baggage-related enquiries in arrivals areas.
• Support baggage contingency and repatriation activities when required.
• Assist with manual encoding of problem baggage.
• Support engineering and maintenance teams by moving tools, equipment and spares when required.
• Conduct inspections to identify misplaced baggage, system issues and safety hazards.
• Maintain high standards of safety, security and operational performance.
• Participate in mandatory and developmental training.
