Job summary

First Call Contract Services is hiring for a baggage operative at Stansted Airport. The role involves unloading and loading passenger baggage, moving items weighing 10–20 kg, and operating within the baggage facility.

You will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with the possibility of change, and earn 13.81£/h starting in September 2026. DBS check and a full 5-year history may be required.

The role of a baggage operative is to help with the transportation and loading/unloading of passenger baggage in and around the current baggage facility.

Shift

Pay Rate

• 13.81£/ h

Duties

• The unloading and loading of passenger baggage from cart/vessels into lifts to be delivered to the baggage arrivals area for passenger collection, bags can weigh anything from 10-20kg.


• To ensure company health & safety policies are adhered to


• Load and unload materials from trucks or containers


• Adhere to company and site policies, culture and value


• To work within the established standards of accuracy


• To undertake and implement any training provided by the company in relation to the development of the role, individual or operation

Skills

• Ability to follow work & safety rules


• Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions


• Ability to count accurately and to perform simple math calculations


• Have appropriate hand, eye and foot co-ordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment


• Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and /or lifting, in line with H&S regulations
