Job summary

The Best Connection Group is seeking General Operatives to support a busy airport operation at Stansted Airport. You will manually transfer baggage, use trolleys for short moves between baggage belts, and assist during terminal renovation works. Applicants must meet CAA requirements and be 18+.

Shifts are 12 hours with a 4 on/4 off pattern, starting from early hours. Pay is £13.80 per hour, with rigorous safety standards and physical fitness expected for this physically demanding role.

Job description

General Operatives to join a busy airport operation at Stansted Airport.

The role involves manually transferring baggage as part of ongoing terminal renovation works. Duties will include using trolleys to move luggage short distances between designated baggage belts, as well as working behind the check-in desks to ensure bags are correctly spaced and positioned on the belts while maintenance and improvement works are carried out on the baggage system.

Pay:

• Hourly pay: £13.80 per hour

Hours:

• Earliest start time: 0230
• Latest finish of 2330
• Working 12 hour shifts
• Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of repeatedly lifting and moving luggage weighing up to 30kg.
• Ensure all duties are carried out safely, accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
• Work within designated operational areas as directed by management and in line with business requirements.
• Complete and apply any training provided to support the development of the role and the wider operation.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.
