Job summary

TrustFlight in the United Kingdom seeks a Technical Editor to accurately implement instructed changes into aviation manuals, assembling content into the required structure and applying styles and standards. You will produce manuals that meet client requirements and TrustFlight quality standards.

You will work with Word, MadCap, Acrobat, JIRA, and MEL Manager, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and high quality across all documents.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical editing, document production, or a detail-intensive documentation role.
• Proficiency, or ability to become proficient, in Microsoft Word, MadCap, Adobe Acrobat, JIRA and MEL Manager.
• Strong attention to detail across content placement, formatting, styles, numbering, references, and structure.
• Clear communication: ask questions, raise issues, and manage workload honestly, including capacity.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructed changes accurately and completely into manuals and related documentation.
• Apply required styles, formatting, templates, numbering, references, and structure consistently.
• Use Word, MadCap, Acrobat, JIRA, and MEL Manager to produce manuals and convert documents as needed.
• Update task status in JIRA and progress assigned work through the workflow.
• Check completed work for accuracy, consistency and completeness before submission.
• Flag unclear instructions or conflicts to the relevant Author.
• Estimate work effort and communicate progress, blockers, and capacity concerns.
• Collaborate with the team and support colleagues as appropriate.
