Job summary

Acron Aviation is seeking an experienced Technical Author to join our London Training Centre. You will develop and maintain high-quality aviation training and operational documentation, turning complex systems into clear, user-friendly materials.

You’ll work with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturer procedures and industry standards. This role focuses on producing technical publications and supporting digital training content, with opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• Experience creating technical documentation for aviation or similar fields.
• Ability to turn complex technical information into clear, user-friendly material.
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with digital content development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality technical and training documentation.

Acron Aviation is looking for an experienced and technically minded Technical Author to join our team and support the development and delivery of high-quality aviation training and operational documentation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong aviation background who enjoys working with complex technical information and has the ability to turn it into clear, accurate and user-friendly documentation.

The Role

As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for researching, developing, reviewing and maintaining technical documentation and training materials for commercial aviation.

You will work closely with our subject matter experts, instructors and technical teams to ensure that all content is accurate, consistent, compliant and aligned with current aircraft manufacturer procedures, regulation and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality technical and training documentation.
• Research and interpret complex aircraft systems, procedures and technical information.
• Produce clear, concise and accurate content for pilots and aviation professionals.
• Work with subject matter experts, instructors and technical teams to validate content.
• Review and update existing documentation to reflect changes to aircraft systems, procedures and regulations.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy and quality across all published materials.
• Support the development of digital and computer-based training content.
• Use a range of IT and document-production tools to create engaging and professional materials.
• Assist with document control, version management and quality assurance.

About You

We are looking for an individual who has:

• Strong working knowledge of Boeing and/or Airbus commercial aircraft systems and procedures.
• Previous experience as a technical author, aviation training developer, technical writer or in a similar technical role is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to understand complex technical information and communicate it clearly and effectively.
• Strong IT skills and confidence working with Microsoft Office and modern digital content-development tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to technical accuracy.
• The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with subject matter experts.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A passion for aviation and a desire to produce high-quality training and technical material.

Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

• Commercial airline or flight training environment.
• Boeing and/or Airbus technical publications.
• Pilot training, CBT or e-learning development.
• Technical documentation or instructional design.
• Aviation regulatory requirements and training standards.
• Working with digital learning platforms or content-authoring software.
