Job summary

QinetiQ Limited is seeking an Associate Engineer - Technical Author at the Boscombe Down site. You will join a team of technical authors delivering high-quality manuals to support installation, operation and maintenance of aviation equipment.

The role requires aircraft/ mechanical engineering background, mastery of Word/FrameMaker, S1000D tools, and CSDB usage, with strict adherence to airworthiness standards. A clearance to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified aircraft engineer or mechanical engineer or equivalent
• General knowledge of aircraft equipment, systems and documentation
• Advanced Microsoft Word and FrameMaker usage
• S1000D authoring tools and CSDB operations proficiency
• CorelDraw for bitmap/vector graphics manipulation

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality publications for installation, operation and maintenance
• Provide documentation to customers per Technical Publications procedures
• Ensure compliance with MAA/MAM-P, MAM-D and S1000D/ATA iSpec 2200 standards
• Plan and prioritise own work to meet customer requirements
• Ensure publications meet airworthiness and regulatory standards
