Your area of responsibility:
Working in some of the best venues and hotels in the UK, you will be integral in planning and preparing events, responsible for delivery and setup from small meetings to large-scale productions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients to ensure expectations are met.
- Prepare, rig, and de-rig equipment with technicians before events and be available on-site for technical issues.
- Proactively contact clients in advance to develop sales potential, interpret technical solutions, and arrange meetings to understand requirements.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of standard set designs and visuals to help clients visualize options.
- Maximize sales by upselling services and increasing event elements like production and video editing.
- Participate in capture rate discussions and suggest ways to recover lost business.
- Review sales files for upcoming groups and ensure sales processes are followed.
- Foster relations with sales team members, educate them on services, and encourage lead sharing through incentive schemes.
- Develop and maintain a client database, follow up after events, and gather feedback to improve service.
- Ensure responsibilities stay within budget, negotiate rates, and utilize in-house services before outsourcing.
- Collaborate with hotel and marketing teams to develop promotional materials.
- Attend staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Build good relations with hotel staff and develop service improvement plans.
- Coordinate with the London team and sites for support and resource sharing.
- Manage dry hire shows and large events, including tendering and pre-production, involving event producers as needed.
- Build customer loyalty by converting one-off clients into repeat clients.
- Monitor competitor activity and approach clients for future opportunities.
- Delegate technical responsibilities effectively to onsite technicians and optimize their shift schedules.
What you bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Mathematics and English GCSE preferred.
- Strong AV/live events experience preferred.
- Experience in service and hospitality industries advantageous.
- Experience with audio-visual equipment or similar in educational settings beneficial.
