Job summary

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced sonographer to cover a 12-month maternity leave in the ultrasound department. The role supports abdominal, gynaecology, obstetrics, vascular, MSK and interventional imaging across Chesterfield and community sites.

The successful candidate will hold a CASE-accredited Post Graduate Ultrasound qualification and ideally be HCPC registered, with autonomous reporting and weekend rota availability.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in performing medical ultrasound examinations and providing autonomous reports.
• CASE accredited postgraduate ultrasound qualification.
• Registration with HCPC preferred; SOR registration accepted if not HCPC.

Responsibilities

• Work as an autonomous ultrasound practitioner providing high-standard sonography.
• Produce comprehensive independent ultrasound reports.
• Prioritise referrals and manage workload according to booking protocols.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary team and provide clinical supervision where required.
• Observe Trust policy on incident reporting and maintain equipment cleanliness.
