Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a growing civil engineering and utilities contractor in Manchester. You will own commercial tasks across a portfolio of projects, from estimating to final accounts, with direct visibility to senior management.

You should have NEC3/4 experience in civil works, strong cost control, and the ability to drive commercial outcomes in a lean team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts in civil engineering projects.
• Proven ability to prepare CVRs, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Experience with estimating and pricing civil engineering works.
• Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently with proactivity.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple civil engineering and utilities projects.
• Prepare estimates, price works and support tender submissions.
• Manage project budgets, cost plans and cash-flow forecasts.
• Produce CVRs and monthly commercial reports.
• Prepare valuations and applications for payment.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, procurement and negotiations.
• Monitor costs, margins, risks and opportunities.
• Handle variations, changes and NEC-related events.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams.
• Provide commercial support to Commercial Manager and leadership.
