Job summary

Jdr Recruitment represents a family business seeking a Company Accountant in Preston. You will lead a small accounts team (2 ledger clerks) and coordinate with the external accountant, taking responsibility for all accounting functions and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have proven autonomy, familiarity with QuickBooks and stock systems, and be able to implement improvements to procedures. AAT/ACCA preferred but equivalent experience considered.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience managing a small team.
• Proven ability to deliver full accounting reporting with autonomy.
• Experience liaising with external accountants and improving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee group accounts for three entities.
• Analyze stock data weekly for accounting purposes.
• Control cash and bank reconciliations; manage banking and collections.
• Oversee Purchase Ledger and payment runs.
• Prepare accruals and other reports in Excel.
• Handle inter-company transfers and compliance.
• Manage payroll processing monthly.
• Prepare P&L, Balance Sheets, and fixed assets.
