Job summary

Expleo UK in Preston is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team. You will lead elements of the month-end close, prepare accruals and prepayments, post journals and support the production of management accounts.

The role requires either a part or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or substantial experience in month-end reporting, with strong Excel skills and experience in Sage Intact or similar cloud ERP.

Qualifications

• Part or newly qualified accountant, or with significant month-end experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience producing VAT returns and dealing with HMRC queries.

Responsibilities

• Lead elements of the month-end close, including accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Prepare month-end reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Support the production of monthly management accounts.
• Assist internal and external audit activities to strengthen controls.
• Process quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and processes.
