Job summary

Saab UK seeks a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for our autonomous flight platforms. You will use MATLAB/Simulink to implement flight control laws and data processing algorithms, verify with bespoke simulations, and deploy to hardware for flight testing near Bedford.

You will contribute to requirements, participate in continual improvement of methods, and present findings in reports and customer briefings.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms.
• Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for flight systems.
• Verify algorithms with bespoke simulations and testing.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight tests near office.
• Prepare technical reports and customer-facing presentations.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to process improvement.
