Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for aircraft flight systems. You will contribute to requirements and use MATLAB/Simulink to craft novel flight control laws and data manipulation algorithms.

After verification, you will deploy software to target hardware and perform real-world flight tests near the office. You will present test findings in reports or customer-facing presentations, participate in SOP development and

Qualifications

Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics and their impact on flight control.
Experience using MATLAB/Simulink to develop algorithms and control laws.
Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
Existing SC Clearance.
Knowledge of Git and version control.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and test safety-critical flight control software.
Contribute to requirements definition and use MATLAB/Simulink to generate control laws and data manipulation algorithms.
Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight testing at the test facility.
Present testing findings in reports or customer-facing presentations; contribute to SOPs and continuous improvement.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and uphold quality targets.
