Job summary

SAAB UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for flight systems. You will use MATLAB/Simulink to generate control laws and data algorithms, verify with bespoke simulations, deploy to hardware, and perform real-world flight tests at the nearby test facility.

Join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to process improvements while presenting testing outcomes to stakeholders. National Security Vetting clearance to SC level is required.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics, and their impact on flight control.
• Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety critical software for flight systems.
• Contribute to requirements definition and generate software using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real world flight testing at the test facility near the office.
• Present testing findings in reports or customer facing presentations.
• Contribute to development of standard operating processes and continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary team.
