Job summary

The Minor Injuries Unit at Malvern Community Hospital is seeking an Emergency Nurse or Care Practitioner to work 34.5 hours per week. The post holder assesses, treats and discharges patients with minor injuries autonomously, while mentoring junior colleagues and deputising for the countywide MIU lead when needed.

Applicants should have ENP or ECP experience in minor injuries or A&E, including suturing and plaster application, to suit this level of independence.

Qualifications

• RN, ECP or AHP with independent practice in minor injuries/A&E.
• Up to date CALRAD/IRMER.
• Up to date ILS/PILS.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and discharge minor injuries autonomously.
• Take referrals and assess physical, psychological and social needs.
• Carry out management plans including investigations, prescribing and referrals within PGDs.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to junior team members.
• Depose MIU Lead in absence to maintain consistency.
• Provide holistic autonomous nursing care.
• Seek service improvements and innovations.
