Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Emergency Care Practitioner to join the Emergency Department. The role focuses on autonomous assessment and management of minor injuries and illness, in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, receiving senior clinical support and training to advance your practice and patient care. The post is based in the refurbished ED operating 8:00am–11:00pm.

Qualifications

• Band 6 Emergency Care Practitioner in ED.
• Experience in minor injuries and minor illness.
• Commitment to patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with minor injuries/illness.
• Undertake clinical examination and investigations within scope of practice.
• Develop treatment plans, including prescribing within qualification.
• Recognise escalation, referrals, or onward management.
• Provide safe discharge with advice and follow-up.
• Support safe patient flow and accurate documentation.
