Job summary

Langford View Care Centre in Oxfordshire, part of Orders of St. John Care Trust, is seeking an experienced Chef to design menus for residents, cook with seasonal ingredients and lead a small kitchen team.

You will ensure nutritious, high-quality meals, maintain hygiene and safety standards, manage budgets and stock, and occasionally cater for other day centres and community activities, including some weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen serving large numbers.
• Knowledge of menu planning for specialist diets.
• Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience leading and developing a team; able to motivate staff.
• Ability to manage budgets and stock effectively.
• Experience engaging with elderly residents to understand their needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of kitchen and catering services, including management of a small team.
• Ensure the highest standards of nutrition, hygiene and safety at all times.
• Occasionally cater for meals for other day centres and community activities.
• Some weekend work will be required.
