Job summary

Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Middlesbrough is recruiting a Vehicle Technician Apprentice for a September 2026 start. You will combine hands-on dealership training with structured learning, aiming for IMI Level 3 in Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance. No prior automotive experience is required; the apprenticeship includes 3 years of mentored training.

You’ll attend the Coventry Training Academy 13 times for 5 days each during the programme, gaining skills to become a qualified Vehicle Technician.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in vehicles and automotive industry.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Enthusiasm, positive attitude and attention to detail.
• Grade C/4 in English, Maths and Science.

Responsibilities

• Learn to service vehicles following clear instructions.
• Diagnose, repair and replace vehicle parts and components.
• Carry out vehicle checks and inspections.
• Produce time estimates for repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain repair and service records in the in-house system and for customers.
