Evans Halshaw Ford Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting a Vehicle Technician Apprentice for a 2026 start date. You’ll learn how to service and diagnose vehicles with support from an experienced mentor, working toward an IMI Level 3 in Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance. No prior automotive experience is required.

You will attend the Training Academy in Daventry 12 times over a 3-year programme, gaining hands‑on experience and long‑term career development in the automotive industry.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in vehicles and the automotive industry.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• A keen eye for detail.
• Grade C/4 in English and Maths is required.

Responsibilities

• Learning to service vehicles, checking and maintaining them following clear instructions.
• Learning to diagnose, repair and replace vehicle parts and components.
• Carry out vehicle checks and inspections.
• Produce time estimates for repairs and maintenance to vehicles.
• Maintain repair and service records on the in‑house computer system and for customers.
