Job summary

Evans Halshaw, BYD Birmingham, invites applications for a Vehicle Technician Apprentice. You will combine hands-on dealership work with structured training and mentor support, working toward an IMI Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance, setting you up to become a qualified Vehicle Technician.

No prior automotive experience required; the apprenticeship provides training, support, and progression.

Qualifications

• Interest in vehicles and automotive industry.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Grade C/4 in English, Maths and Science.

Responsibilities

• Learning to service vehicles, checking and maintaining them following clear instructions.
• Learning to diagnose, repair and replace vehicle parts and components.
• Carry out vehicle checks and inspections.
• Produce time estimates for repairs and maintenance to vehicles.
• Maintain repair and service records on the in-house computer system and for customers.
