Job summary

G&P is seeking an Automotive Quality Team Leader to join the on-site Quality Management team in Woking. You will lead a small team while supporting quality activities across the site, with a hands-on focus on documentation and process conformance.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing, be adept at writing instructions and test plans, and drive continuous improvement through structured investigations and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience writing Work Instructions, SOPs, or Test Plans.
• Experience investigating quality issues and applying corrective actions.
• Experience managing teams in fast-paced operations.
• Knowledge of layered audits and process compliance.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain Work Instructions, SOPs, WES or Test Plans.
• Lead and support a team of 5-10 Quality Inspectors.
• Conduct Level Zero investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Plan and coordinate inspection activities.
• Carry out layered audits and process conformance checks.
• Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Ensure teams have the required tools, PPE and documentation.
• Support hands-on inspection activities when needed.

We are seeking an Automotive Quality Team Leader to join our dedicated Quality Management team at G&P. This role supports a prestigious British high-performance automotive manufacturer and is based on-site in Woking.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead a team of 5-10 Inspectors while supporting quality activities across the site. This is a hands‑on role, with a strong focus on writing and maintaining Work Instructions/SOPs/WES's/Test Plans, alongside driving quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Working hours:

• Monday - Friday: 06:00am - 14:00pm

Flexibility may occasionally be required to support overtime at the end of shifts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Writing and maintaining Work Instructions, SOPs, WES's or Test Plans.
• Leading and supporting a team of 5-10 Quality Inspectors.
• Conducting Level Zero investigations and root cause analysis.
• Planning and coordinating inspection activities.
• Carrying out layered audits and process conformance checks.

• Ensuring teams have the correct tools, PPE, and documentation.
• Supporting hands‑on inspection activities where required.

The ideal Automotive Quality Team Leader will have:

• Supervisory or team leadership experience within an automotive manufacturing environment, or a comparable high-volume engineering/manufacturing sector.
• Experience writing Work Instructions, SOPs, Test Plans, or similar documentation.
• Experience investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience managing teams in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Knowledge of layered audits and process compliance.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Nice to have, but not essential:

• Quality inspection experience.
• SAP knowledge.
• Relevant quality or manufacturing qualifications.
